Italian Restaurant Brand Identity

CHALLENGE

Casella is an italian restaurant that has been serving authentic italian food since 1972. A rebranding was needed, due to the fact that the philosophy of the restaurant and the quality of the food didn’t match with their outdated visual identity. The challenge was to create a unique branding that matches the high aspiration of the restaurant and attract the guests that understand the philisophy and are willing to pay for quality. In short: Create a brand that matches the quality of the food.

We designed a premium looking branding that helps the restaurant communicate their high aspiration an the quality guests can expect from the food.

Brand Strategy

The process started with a brand strategy workshop, where we discussed all about the restaurant, the market, the vision of the founder and where he wants the restaurant to be in the future. That was the basis for the creative direction of the project.

Brand Design & Photography

The design needed to showcase the high quality selection of ingridients, the lifestyle and their aspiration to bring authentic italian food to the city. The identity puts the food to the foreground, while still maintaining a level of distinctiveness. We created a bespoke typeface that is inspired by their old signage, combined it with premium print materials and an emotional and moody image style that showcases the lifestyle and the cooking process.

The authentic imagery showcases the lifestyle of the restaurant and gives the guests an impression what they can expect from the restaurant. It also helps to visualize the passion of the founder, his way of cooking and the quality of ingridients in the kitchen.

Branding is all about an emotional connection. By visualizing this guests become part of the journey.
